Obsession of the Day-Bazaar's In/Out

Bazaar is hands down the BEST fashion magazine (sorry Vogue and InStyle). Bazaar brings the glam like no one else can...and typically always leaves us gasping for breath after all the amazing spreads of couture clothing, jewelry, and home decor (after the Michael Jackson inspired spread, we almost needed to be rushed to the hospital!). How Bazaar does it is still a mystery-could it be the bare minimum of 6-8 pages they give for their fashion spreads? Or the section "Fabulous at Every Age"? Or possibly just the oodles of ads from the likes of Dior, Hermes, Gucci, Prada...the list goes on...whatever it is, Bazaar knows they've got a good formula.

This month's Bazaar is no disappointment (should I even mention that the cover happens to feature Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson? That spread in and of itself is to die for fashion). What really got us going though is the section they have at the end of every issue: What's In, What's Out. We loved it all so much, we needed to make it our obsession for today! Here is the list:

1. Soft Necklines:
In-Big Bows and Sweet Touches
Out-Heavy Masculine details
(No heavy metal, more prim and proper)

2. Coquettish Cocktail
In-Flirtatious feminine frocks
Out-Long, unembellished dresses
(Think playful party, less drab formal)

3. Playful Pumps
In-Crystal Adornment
Out-Plain black for black tie
(Shoes really do make an outfit...and even better
if bejeweled!)

4. Mixed Media
In-combining pearls, rope, and the unexpected.
Out-Single strand necklaces
(we SO couldn't agree more...this was our favorite of the list!)

5. Animal Prints
In-Chic safari patterns
Out: Preppy plaid
(Look at Dior Spring 2010 for their lady like
take on the leopard)

6. Pants for Night
In-Romantic suiting for evening
Out-Punk-rock ensembles for formal affairs
(updated Katherine Hepburn...with a bit more frills)

After looking at the list, we are on pins and needles to jet over to H&M to check all of these off the list...an easy, chic, and cheap way to update your holiday wardrobe
